CAPE WINELANDS TOUR (FULL DAY) We depart to the beautiful picturesque winelands to enjoy some of the many wine estates in the Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch areas, where the personalities of the wines are influenced by the proximity to the ocean and its cooling summer sea breezes. The picturesque region boasts a multitude of wine estates and cellars where wine-tastings, cellar tours and meals can be enjoyed. You have free time to browse through the quaint village of Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, the second oldest European settlement in South Africa. We visit the Village Museum Complex and Oom Samie se Winkel, a traditional general dealer. Two wine tastings and a cellar tour are included. A lunch stop (for own account) is included.
CAPE PENINSULA TOUR (FULL DAY) We depart for a full day tour of the Cape Peninsula, with our first stop being Table Mountain, where we take a short ride with the cable way (own account) to the top of Table Mountain (weather permitting, alternatively Signal Hill). Here you will experience breathtaking views of Cape Town. We continue to the quaint village of Hout Bay for some shopping and a short boat trip to Seal Island (time and weather permitting – own account). We continue via a spectacular scenic drive over Chapman’s Peak (if pass is open) to the naval town of Simons Town. We visit the Cape Jackass Penquins at Boulders Beach and the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, where we take a walk or a ride in the Funicular (own account) to the top of Cape Point. Time permitting, we travel back to Cape Town via Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens (own account). A lunch stop (for own account) is included
HERMANUS WHALE & WINE TOUR (1 Jul – 30 Nov) Our tour takes us North-East of Cape Town to Hermanus, boasting the best land-based whale watching in the world, where the Southern Right Whales visit Walker Bay every year around July to November. Hermanus is situated between the fynbos-covered mountains and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in spectacular views. Enjoy watching the whales, walking on the beachfront and shopping in the quaint shops. Lunch (for own account) is available at one of the many restaurants in the town. Time permitting, we can visit the museum at the old harbour. After lunch we depart for a winetasting at two of the renowned Wine Estates in the area. We also include a stop at The Wine Village for optional purchases of a vast selection of top wines. Optional boat whale watching is available on request. We return to Cape Town in the late afternoon/early evening.
HERMANUS FYNBOS & WINE TOUR (1 Dec – 30 Jun) Our tour takes us North-East of Cape Town to Hermanus, situated between the fynbos-covered mountains and the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, resulting in spectacular views. Enjoy walking on the beachfront and shopping in the quaint shops. We visit Fernkloof Nature Reserve for a walk and orientation on fynbos, proteas etc. Fernkloof covers 1800 ha in the Kleinrivier Mountains above Hermanus and boasts over 1400 species of fynbos sofar been collected and identified. A lunch stop (for own account) is included. Time permitting, we can visit the museum at the old harbour. After lunch we depart for a winetasting at two of the renowned Wine Estates in the area. We also include a stop at The Wine Village for optional purchases of a vast selection of top wines. Time permitting we visit the Harold Potter Botanical Gardens, a beautiful, secluded garden encompasses 10 hectares of cultivated fynbos garden and 190.5 hectares of pristine natural fynbos. We return to Cape Town in the late afternoon/early evening.

Itinerary: Day 1: The Garden Route is a scenic stretch of coastline between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth, which boasts incredible scenery, indigenous forests, freshwater lakes, wetlands, hidden coves and long deserted beaches. We depart Cape Town and travel northwards over the spectacular Du Toits Kloof Mountain Pass, through Worcester to Robertson. We enjoy a wine tasting at one of the wine-farms in the area, and continue our journey through the mountains to the Klein (Afrikaans for ‘Little’) Karoo, where surprises await you, as scenery changes from lush farmland to semi-desert areas. This semi desert region, known as the Ostrich and Feather Capital of the world, is also home to the famous Cango Caves. Today we visit a commercial Ostrich Farm, where we learn more about these amazing desert birds and the Feather Barons who were responsible for creating a huge industry from the export of their feathers! Why not try your skill at riding one of these flightless birds? Before we depart spend a little time browsing around the farm store for that special Ostrich souvenir. Day 2:
After breakfast we depart for a visit to the famous Cango Caves discovered in 1780 by a local farmer named Van Zyl. The chamber he was first lowered down into - Van Zyl Hall - is as long as a football field! The Cango Caves is one of the world’s great natural wonders - a fascinating underground wonderland of limestone formations in a wide variety of colours, which have been sculptured by nature through the ages. Although the extensive system of tunnels and chambers go on for over four kilometers, only about a quarter of them are open to visitors.
It is advisable to wear comfortable light clothing and sensible walking shoes for the tour through the caves. We also visit Cango Wildlife Ranch, an endangered species breeding facility, which offers the rare opportunity of interacting with the hand reared cheetahs, explore the facts and fiction surrounding crocodiles and learn about the Bengal Tiger breeding programme. After an amazing morning, we continue our journey towards Knysna, which with its surrounding lakes, rivers, lagoon, mountains, forests and delectable Oysters, is one of the Garden Route’s most popular destinations. Day 3:
After a leisurely breakfast we travel northwards along the Garden Route, passed the Tsitsikamma National Park, a supremely tranquil and pristine wonderland of forest, mountain and sea, to Storms River where we make a stop at the famous Storms River Bridge, to stretch our legs and view this spectacular gorge. This is where the highest Bungee Jump in the world - 216m - is located. We return to Knysna and can as an option, visit the Elephant Sanctuary (cost not included), where we have the opportunity to interact with these majestic beasts and, for an additional cost, experience an elephant back ride! A lunch stop (for own account) is included. We arrive back in Knysna, where the remainder of the afternoon is at leisure. At sunset we depart on a 1,5 hour cruise on the Knysna Lagoon.

Day 4:

After breakfast, we depart for Oudtshoorn, situated in the centre of the Klein (Afrikaans for ‘Little’) Karoo. Today we visit a commercial Ostrich Farm, where we learn more about these amazing desert birds and the Feather Barons who were responsible for creating a huge industry from the export of their feathers! Why not try your skill at riding one of these flightless birds, before enjoying Lunch (own account) at the farm restaurant? The menu is varied, but why not sample an Ostrich omelet followed by Ostrich Steak and salad? Ostrich meat is delicious and very healthy, as it contains zero cholesterol!
